Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, boleros from the past, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves opera and tangos, along with all dramatic performances. She began singing and learning music with her mother, and commenced more serious training in singing at the age of 16 working with the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued through the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. When she was a student, as well as a young professional in Mexico City and Guadalajara she sang with several chamber groups and choruses. She sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to the southern part of California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo in classical Latin American music at private occasions. In addition to being an instructor and performer in the local area the passion for arts and music keeps her active in a variety of initiatives. Ana has been a participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana loves to sing the traditional Latin American songs and hopes that she can inspire others to do the same.
