Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress who is best well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and she relocated with her mother to Los Angeles. However, in 2001, despite financial struggles it was possible get her first significant performance in the video online series Rachel's Room as the lead character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich, in which she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost, including the finale. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's both a star-gazer and socialite. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family she is the daughter and elder sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager She began working in small roles for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her sister. Then she appeared on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance as the lead in Secretary (2002) which is which is an erotic romantic drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she was also nominated for The Golden Globe Award. Following several commercially-successful films, like World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). Nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). She then played in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent for Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well singing in Frank 2014 and as a singer as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the lead role. Gyllenhaal started her career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021. she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by the Academy Award.
